Design Deposit Terms
These terms explain how OALLO design deposits work before custom jewelry design, sourcing, quoting, or production begins.
1. Overview
OALLO offers custom jewelry review, design, sourcing, and production coordination for selected custom jewelry projects. Before a custom piece is accepted for production, OALLO may first review the request, discuss design direction, evaluate feasibility, and provide next-step guidance.
A design deposit is separate from a casual inquiry or initial Custom Review. It is requested only when OALLO determines that a project may be a suitable fit and the customer wishes to proceed into paid design work.
2. Custom Review Is Not a Final Order
Submitting a Custom Review request does not create a final order, production agreement, price guarantee, delivery guarantee, or obligation for OALLO to accept the project.
OALLO may decline any request that is not a good fit due to design direction, budget, timeline, material availability, production requirements, originality concerns, legal concerns, or other business reasons.
3. Design Deposit
If OALLO determines that your project may be feasible and you wish to continue, OALLO may request a design deposit before beginning paid custom design work.
The design deposit amount will be stated in your proposal, invoice, checkout page, or written communication. The standard OALLO design deposit is $200, with a typical range of $150 to $300 depending on project complexity.
Payment of a design deposit means you authorize OALLO to begin the design-stage work described in your proposal or these terms.
4. What the Design Deposit May Include
Unless otherwise stated in writing, the design deposit may include:
- Review of your custom jewelry idea, inspiration, references, and design direction
- Feasibility confirmation based on available information
- One design brief based on the approved direction
- One initial design concept set
- Up to two rounds of reasonable design revisions
- Preliminary sourcing and production review
- Preliminary price guidance or one final production quote
The design deposit does not include unlimited revisions, production, materials, stones, CAD modeling, wax models, casting, setting, engraving, appraisals, certificates, shipping, taxes, insurance, duties, resizing, repairs, or other services unless expressly stated in writing.
5. Deposit Credit Toward Purchase
If you place the custom jewelry production order within 60 days after OALLO issues the final quote, the design deposit will be credited toward the final purchase price unless your proposal states otherwise.
If you do not place the order within 60 days, OALLO may, at its discretion, apply the deposit later, require a new quote, request a new deposit, or close the project file.
6. Deposit Is Not the Final Jewelry Price
The design deposit is not the full price of the finished jewelry. Final pricing may change based on final design specifications, metal type, metal weight, stone type, stone size, stone quality, ring size, measurements, production complexity, supplier pricing, market price changes, taxes, shipping, insurance, duties, handling, and customer-requested changes.
No final price is confirmed until OALLO provides a written quote or invoice and the customer accepts the required terms.
7. Refundability of Design Deposit
The design deposit is refundable only if OALLO determines, after payment, that the project is not feasible or OALLO declines the order before design work begins.
If you cancel before OALLO begins design work, OALLO may refund the deposit minus any non-recoverable payment-processing, consultation, sourcing, or administrative costs that apply.
Once OALLO has begun design work, prepared concepts, created a design brief, contacted production partners, researched sourcing options, reviewed materials, or performed work specifically for your project, the design deposit becomes non-refundable.
8. Revisions and Change Requests
The design deposit includes only the revision rounds stated in your proposal or these terms. Additional revisions, major direction changes, new reference directions, different stone requests, new metal choices, or changes that materially alter the project may require an additional design fee and a revised timeline.
OALLO may decline changes that are not feasible, inconsistent with the approved direction, outside the project budget, or not suitable for production.
9. Reference Images and Originality
You may provide reference photos, sketches, inspiration links, heirloom images, or style examples to help communicate direction, proportion, mood, or detail.
OALLO does not agree to directly copy protected third-party designs, brand designs, copyrighted work, trademarked designs, or another designer’s proprietary work. References are used for discussion and direction only. OALLO may require changes to create an original design direction.
By submitting reference materials, you confirm that you have the right to share them with OALLO for review and design discussion.
10. Design Materials and Ownership
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, sketches, concepts, mockups, CAD files, drawings, renderings, production notes, design files, supplier notes, and internal project materials created by or for OALLO remain the property of OALLO or its production partners.
Purchase of a finished custom piece does not transfer ownership of OALLO’s design files, CAD files, working files, methods, vendor information, supplier information, production notes, or internal documents.
The customer owns the physical finished jewelry purchased from OALLO after payment is complete, subject to the applicable terms of sale.
11. No Production Without Final Approval
OALLO will not begin production until final design specifications are approved in writing, required payments are received, OALLO confirms the project for production, and any required terms are accepted.
Written approval may include approval by email, invoice acceptance, checkout confirmation, signed document, text confirmation, or another written form accepted by OALLO.
12. Production Timeline
Any timeline provided during the design deposit stage is an estimate only. Timing may depend on design complexity, customer approvals, sourcing, stone availability, production partner availability, shipping, quality control, resizing, finishing, and other factors.
OALLO will make reasonable efforts to communicate meaningful delays or timeline changes. If a production order cannot proceed or cannot be fulfilled, OALLO may cancel the production order and issue any refund required under the applicable order terms.
13. Customer Responsibility
The customer is responsible for providing accurate information, including ring size, measurements, spelling for engraving, preferred materials, budget range, timeline needs, shipping information, and other project details.
OALLO is not responsible for issues caused by incorrect customer-provided information, late approvals, delayed responses, inaccurate measurements, or changes requested after approval.
14. Final Production Order
If the customer approves the final quote and proceeds to production, the final custom jewelry order may be subject to additional terms, including payment schedule, cancellation limits, production terms, shipping terms, returns and cancellation policy, and final sale conditions for custom-made jewelry.
These Design Deposit Terms should be read together with OALLO’s Terms of Sale, Returns & Cancellations Policy, Shipping Policy, and any written proposal or invoice provided for the project.
15. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
If you have a concern about a design deposit or project charge, please contact OALLO first at hello@oallo.com so we can review the issue.
Improper chargebacks or payment disputes may delay or cancel a project. OALLO reserves the right to provide payment processors with project records, communications, invoices, approvals, and work history to respond to payment disputes.
16. Updates to These Terms
OALLO may update these Design Deposit Terms from time to time. The terms in effect at the time of payment or project approval will generally apply to that deposit or project unless otherwise required by law or agreed in writing.
